THE JIMNY
I am a happy owner of the small 4WD Suzuki Jimny JLX. I was in need of a new car and nice features for me as a nature photographer is good ground clearance, four wheel drive, electric powered windows, big windows and the Jimny deliveries this. Safety is good with dual airbags, ABS brakes and side impact protection beams . Other nice features are remote central locking and immobilizer. I often take photos of birds and mammals from the car because it is a great hide and then a car with good ground clearance and 4WD will really full fill my needs. Because it has a small size its easier to manoeuvre it in tight spaces like small roads and between obstacles. The big windows is great to spot birds and other photo objects. The Jimny has only a 1.3 litres engine but for my needs I find it sufficient, I am not in to racing anyway. There are off course other 4WD cars that delivers more luxuries and bigger engine but the cost much more and have higher fuel consumption. Can I sleep in the car? Yes! If I lower the front seat it makes a flat bed together with the back seat, very useful. I have added some extras like Cobra Safari grill, Hella halogen headlights Comet FF 300, Suzuki mud flaps and Evotec wood dash trim set. I also gave my Jimny a total rostprotection with Mercasol to better withstand the harsh conditions in Sweden with salt, water and snow. To read my position I have mounted a Silva 58 compass on my dashboard.
